Description

The Total TBLI2002 heat gun is a 20V cordless hot air gun for jobs where a power point is far away or load-shedding stops work. It is sold as a bare tool, so it is the cheapest way in if you already own a TOTAL 20V battery and charger.

Two heat settings let you work gently on heat-shrink tubing at 300°C, then switch to 550°C for paint or PVC. Because there is no cable, it is handy on ladders, in panels and on site.

Battery and charger

How to use it safely

First, choose the right nozzle for the job. Then start on low heat and raise it slowly, because too much heat can burn paint or melt plastic. Also, keep the nozzle moving and hold it a few centimetres from the surface. After use, stand the gun upright and let it cool before you pack it away. Finally, work in open air when you strip old paint, since the fumes can be harmful.
