Then choose the handle. THCH61008 and THCH61016 use a three-color fiberglass handle, which absorbs shock and does not swell or crack the way a wooden shaft does. THCH61016L goes further. Its head and shaft are drop-forged as one piece, so no joint can work loose, and the anti-shock grip takes the sting out of a long day of nailing. However, that heavy duty build costs more, so choose it when the hammer works daily rather than sitting in a drawer for repairs.
