Self-leveling line laser for tiling, ceiling and electrical layout work

A self-leveling line laser projects a straight horizontal and vertical line across the room, so one person can set out tiles, partitions, false ceilings, switchboards and conduit runs without a spirit level and a helper. Each of these Total models levels itself within 4 degrees of tilt, which means you only need to place the laser roughly level and the beam does the rest. Because the lines stay visible across the whole wall, marking and checking go much faster than with a bubble level.

Which model should you choose

The main differences are beam colour, working range and how the laser is powered. The red beam TLL156503 reaches 18m and is the easiest way into laser levelling for flats, shops and small rooms. The green beam TLL156601 covers the same job at 35m, and a green line is far easier to see in bright light, so it suits larger halls and outdoor shade work.

However, for full tiling work the TLL306502 is the better tool. It throws 360 degree horizontal and vertical green lines around the whole room at once, charges through a USB type-C port instead of taking batteries, and comes with a remote control. The TLL306505 takes a different approach with 1 horizontal and 4 vertical red lines, about 1.0mm accuracy at 5m, plus cross lock and laser gain functions for use with a detector on brighter sites.

What is in the box

The TLL156503 and TLL156601 include a magnetic bracket and a canvas bag, so the laser clamps to angle iron or a ceiling channel and travels safely. The TLL306502 adds a remote control and a USB cable alongside its magnetic bracket, again in a canvas bag. The TLL306505 weighs 980g without batteries and is packed in a plastic box.
