Description

The TOTAL test pencil tells you in one second whether a line is live, so you never open a circuit you only assumed was dead. This listing covers both sizes of the same AC 100-500V line tester (টেস্ট পেন্সিল): THT291408 with a 3x140mm slotted tip, and THT291908 with a longer 4x190mm tip. Choose your model from the dropdown above.

Which TOTAL test pencil should you buy?

Both models do the same job, so the choice is really about reach. The 3x140mm THT291408 is short and light, which suits switchboards, plug points and the small terminal screws inside a distribution box. However, the 4x190mm THT291908 has a longer shaft, so it reaches deeper into panels and industrial terminal blocks while your hand stays further from live parts. Many electricians keep one of each in the bag.

Key features

Tests AC 100-500V, which covers every 220V domestic line and 380/440V three-phase line in Bangladesh.
Neon indicator glows the moment the tip touches a live conductor.
Hardened slotted tip also works as a light-duty screwdriver for terminal screws.
Insulated shaft with a clip-on pocket cap.
Packed by plastic hanger, so it is ready for counter display.

Safe use

Hold the insulated body only, touch the metal cap at the end with one finger, and keep your other hand off earthed metal. Because a neon tester needs that small current through your finger to glow, a missing glow is not proof on its own. Therefore, confirm a dead line with a second tester before you start work.
